![]() I think that both NW and ER had interest in each other for a long time. ![]() And if Faye had done something different each time, it would have made it difficult for the main characters to figure out how to proceed, because too many variables would be changing. And I think they were repeatedly murdered in gruesome ways to make sure that Quincy and Lynri knew that something wasn't right. I agree with the other commenter (Jonbo). And Quincy may have not suggested the name change in the other "reality" where the baby was induced early because they were unsure how long he would live, and if he'd get a chance to leave a physical impact on the world. Could Quincy have suggested it sooner? Sure, but the thought may have not crossed his mind until he physically held their child. Letting the child have her maiden name as his last name is one way to let her leave a legacy. After all, the idea of leaving a lasting impact on the world is much more important to Lynri than it is to Quincy, especially since they were unsure how long she would live. But going with Lynri's maiden name for the baby made sense to me. Changing the first name of the baby was definitely a bit sudden. Here's my thoughts, but some of these answers could obviously change after I have more time to think about IF and replay it at some point. Also fanservice for all of the Rosawatts shippers (myself included) Mostly, it's just Faye using what she can, and nagging on Neil like she does at the end with her confession. However, Eva does say some things that could be interpreted as more than platonic there, but also could not. There's I think exactly ONE panel about a marriage between them, and I don't think it counts. "What about the comic?" Now I'm not sure. ![]() They already knew ir wasn't real, so it didn't have to be 100% realistic. "Why didn't she do that for everyone, then?" It's not in anyone's interest to put so much stress in the machine. "But she created their daughter" still wasn't from scratch, it's more like using one of those apps that show what a child would look like based on two photos. So she paired Neil with his closest friend, because who else would it be? There's even a moment in the final montage where Neil and Eva go for a ride with their coworkers from Sigmund - even tho they never worked there in this reality.įaye made a reality where Neil's parents could see him grow, marry and have children which is, mostly, every parents wish. The thing about the perfect timeline that I've seen everybody just glance over is that it's made by Faye.įaye is working with what she has at hand, not creating people. IMO, the previous games rewarded the player more for doing that careful exploration by giving you optional NPC dialogues & diary texts (and so on) that reveal more about the backstory of certain characters.Ĭonclusion: i can't wait for your next entry! and i am very sad that it'll probably be many years until it comes out. I can praise the dev for trying something different.and yet, i'm not so sure the game is better for it. I also have mixed feelings at removing most of the exploration aspect, by just giving the player the memory balls. Yet here in IF, it is shown that NW's so called "perfect story" involves him marrying & having kids with ER. In all the previous entries (including minisode), at no point did NW or ER ever express any non-platonic feelings for each other (NW's attempt to hold her hand at the end of TTM1 doesnt count, IMO). Yan & Heynard (sp?) getting massacred in such bloody fashion? i guess you could read between the lines & conclude that NW hated them for rejecting his job application? but if so, then that seems too subtle (and yet, too brutal).i dunno, maybe that connection with NW could've been made less subtle? Why does the game not bother explaining the rationale for the baby's name change? i totally understand why the dev chose the name change.but shouldn't there at least be a in-game rationale for it, that is credible & believable? It's just a jarring thing. That said, i just have to get these things out of my chest. Showcasing medical disabilities in a very humanized, interesting way (again) Not retconning the game's story like so many other devs (i'm looking at you, Valve!) Let me start by heaping you huge praise for: This is a great game, don't get me wrong, senpai Gao.
